The 48th WorldSkills Competition came to a close in Shanghai on 27 September, as the Closing Ceremony brought together Competitors, teams, and guests for a night of celebration.

Held at the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center, the ceremony celebrated the dedication, skill, and perseverance of young professionals from around the world.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Medallists, along with Medals for Excellence recipients across all 64 skills, were recognized during the evening, while the Best of Nation awards were presented to one outstanding Competitor from each of the participating countries and regions.

Chinese Competitor Xiaoman He received the Albert Vidal Award after achieving the highest score in the Competition for her performance in Rail Vehicle Technology.

The ceremony also featured the handover of the WorldSkills flag. The 49th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Aichi, Japan, in 2028.

The evening was filled with music and performances, reflecting the friendship, determination and aspirations shared by young people through their skills. As the 48th WorldSkills Competition drew to a close, the celebration in Shanghai once again highlighted how skills can bring people together and illuminate a shared future.
