From Competition schedules and venue maps to hands-on skills experiences and Shanghai travel tips, the official WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 app offers everything you need for the event.

Start by tapping “Skills” on the homepage. Here, you can explore all 64 skill competitions across six sectors, with information about each venue and directions on how to get there.

You can also use the app to explore the WorldSkills Expo, which runs from 23 to 26 September. The Expo offers plenty of ways to explore various skills. With 64 interactive Try-a-Skill stations corresponding to each of the Competition’s skills, visitors can simply choose a skill, read the instructions and check the current wait time, then tap the navigation icon in the top-right corner to find the station.

For those aged 10 to 18 who are keen to learn something new, the Next-Gen Makers Workshop offers one-hour hands-on sessions where participants can learn a practical skill and create their own project. Places are limited, so advance reservation is recommended.

The Cloud Exhibition Hall brings together skill showcases from WorldSkills members, Chinese provinces and cities, as well as organizations and educational establishments from around the world. Meanwhile, the Performance and Event section provides a schedule of live demonstrations and traditional craftsmanship from across the globe during the Competition.

You can even turn your Expo visit into a skills-themed treasure hunt. The Stamp Collection activity features 80 designated checkpoints across the venue. Scan QR codes, use an NFC wristband or complete tasks at the checkpoints to collect stamps and unlock official WorldSkills souvenirs.

The app also allows you to follow updates on the WorldSkills Conference 2026, taking place from 23 to 25 September. The Conference will feature discussions on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, industry trends and the development of skilled youth. Go to “Conference” → “Sessions” to browse information related to the programme.

And when it’s time to move on, the app’s built-in Map can help. Tap “Map” on the homepage to view the venue layout and quickly locate facilities using the menu at the bottom. Zoom in, select a location and tap “Route” for directions. Swipe up on the menu to see even more facilities and services.

WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 is also a chance to experience Shanghai beyond the Competition venues. The “City Services” section brings together practical information on transportation, tourism and other local services to help visitors explore the city with ease.
