Li Ziqi named promotion ambassador for the 48th WorldSkills Competition

On 14 June, marking the 100-day countdown to the opening of the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Executive Bureau and WorldSkills International jointly announced that internationally renowned content creator Li Ziqi has been appointed as a Promotion Ambassador for the Competition. She is the second Promotion Ambassador for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, following Chinese actor Xiao Zhan.
WorldSkills Competition is not only the world’s highest-level skills competition, it is also a global gathering of outstanding young skilled professionals. The appointment of Li Ziqi as a Promotion Ambassador is expected to expand the Competition’s reach beyond its traditional audience, sharing stories of Chinese craftsmanship with the world to inspire more people to understand, respect, embrace and pursue excellence in skills.
As an internationally acclaimed short-form video creator, Li Ziqi has a strong presence across major social media platforms in China and around the world. In recent years, she has engaged with more than a hundred intangible cultural heritage inheritors(officially certified practitioners preserving traditional crafts and culture), immersing herself in the study of traditional crafts. Through her lens, she has captured the artistry and ingenuity time-honoured traditions, contributing to their preservation and revitalization. At the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, Li Ziqi appeared as a “Spring Festival Gala Experience Officer,” sharing the cultural stories behind traditional Chinese attire. Her work has become an important bridge for international cultural exchange, bringing traditional Chinese culture to audiences worldwide. Her journey—building a career through skills and realizing her dreams with craftsmanship—vividly embodies the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 vision, “Master Skills, Change Your Future.”
Speaking about her new role, Li Ziqi said she felt deeply honoured to serve as a Promotion Ambassador for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. She pledged to continue supporting the Competition and extended an invitation to young skilled professionals around the world: “Let us meet through skills, shine through craftsmanship, and light up this world-class celebration of excellence together.”
The announcement also marks the full-scale launch of the “Youth Powering WorldSkills” themed campaign of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 .Aimed at raising public awareness and engaging youth, this campaign will invite positive young influencers from culture to serve as official ambassadors for the Competition.
