Volunteer Recruitment Campaign for the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai held, officially launching the volunteer recruitment for the Competition Preparation Week
On 18 December, a volunteer recruitment campaign for the WorldSkills Competition, themed “Dedicated Youth, Aspiring for the Future – Embracing the WorldSkills Journey, Building Dreams of Skills Together,” was held at the Pudong Library. Mr. Tan Youlin, Deputy Director of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Executive Bureau and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, and Mr. Tang Zhiyu, Deputy Director of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Executive Bureau and Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Committee of the Communist Youth League, attended the event. They presented certificates of “Special Invited Expert for WorldSkills Volunteer Recruitment Campaign” to Luo Shengqiang, an associate professor at the WorldSkills Competition China (Shanghai) Research Center, and Zeng Xiao’an, a Dream Ambassador for the 48th WorldSkills Competition. Nearly 300 attendees were present at the event, including leaders from district-level youth volunteer associations and volunteer service teams of universities and key enterprises, as well as representatives of outstanding young volunteers and relevant social organizations.

Mr. Luo Shengqiang from the WorldSkills Competition China (Shanghai) Research Center introduced the highlights of the WorldSkills Competition and the 48th Shanghai edition, as well as the latest event preparation progress. He also outlined key checkpoints such as the Competition Preparation Week and test competitions, while sharing inspiring stories of the exemplary service delivered by volunteers from past Competitions. Mr. Luo emphasized that the volunteer team would provide vital support and guarantee the smooth execution of all event aspects.
Ms. Zeng Xiao’an, Dream Ambassador for the 48th WorldSkills Shanghai and Bronze Medalist in Health and Social Care at the 47th WorldSkills Competition, shared her firsthand competition experiences. From the school’s training team to the WorldSkills stage, she has grown from a Competitor to an industry trainer, judging expert, and a Dream Ambassador for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. Zeng mentioned that during the Competition, they deeply felt the professionalism and dedication of the volunteers as a solid support, and hoped this warm strength would continue to be passed on.
